What I am up to now

I’m currently both drawing and writing “Pony Girls” for Signature Publishing. These are short stories for the children’s horse magazine “Pony Pals”. The “Pony Girls” characters are the property of the UK company “Bang on the Door”.

I’ve also created a new comic book character, Oisín O’load”, about a school boy who lives in rural Ireland and who has very special abilities. The adventures of Oisín O’load” is meant to bring across the uniqueness of “Irishness” and the Irish culture in a fun and entertaining way. I’ve created a presentational web site for Oisín O’load” where you can read more about Oisín and his universe: www.oisinoload.com

And I’m continuously producing “Slippers”, a humorous strip about old people in a nursing home which runs weekly in a newspaper where I live. “Slippers” is also entirely my own invention and I guess it reflects my love for the good old newspaper cartoon strip.

About me

I’m originally from Copenhagen, but moved to Ireland 14 years ago. I have also lived in Milan for a number of years and speak and write Italian fluently.

I’ve been drawing since I was a kid, inspired by top-quality comics, especially the wealth of excellent translated French and Belgian comics which play a big part of the Danish literary culture. My specialty is humorous and/or adventurous comics for the age group 8-9 years and upwards.

I believe that the spontaneity and excitement by which comic books are produced are conveyed in direct proportionality to the reader.

On the other hand, I also think that a certain amount of detail and research should be put into ones work. The comics that I have loved as a kid myself are the comics crafted with a lot of care and attention to detail, not just in the drawing, but also in the writing. Those, in my opinion, are the comics which readers never grow out of, but keep coming back to again and again.
